NACSO connects the communities and organisations that manage and conserve Namibia’s natural resources
Our space – your space!
With the launch of the new website we want to make a space available for critical voices. Namibian conservation is not perfect, but if we are honest with ourselves, we can make it better. This is your space to raise issues, criticise, and to open up a debate.
Last year Chris Bakkes, a friend in conservation, gave us food for thought by questioning conservancy governance, especially shoot and sell quotas and management. We debated the issue in meetings – and acted. This year we are facing a storm of social media criticism about hunting. It is a debate that we should not shy away from. Let the critics use this page, and let’s discuss the issue.
But let’s be fair. Criticism and debate starts from facts. Use this page to question how we are managing conservation, but be honest. If somebody wants to use this site, instead of social media or other platforms, we welcome that, as long as the article is based on facts and not innuendo*.
