Destination Namibia

Destination Namibia is a short film that showcases Namibia as an adventure tourism destination. Promoting tourism is a top priority for Namibia, and adventure tourism is a fast growing market, but what does Namibia offer that is unique as a destination? In short: Namibia’s conservation commitments underscore a world of sustainable adventure tourism opportunities.  Of special note are communal conservancies and the great opportunities they enable to view wildlife roaming free in spectacular landscapes. That was the message carried to the Adventure Travel World Summit in Chiapas, Mexico in 2011. Namibia’s Minister of Environment and Tourism led a delegation to sell Namibia as a destination where adventure is linked to ecological responsibility and community based conservation. The film and the delegation caused a stir: so much so, that Namibia is actively preparing to bid to host the 2013 Summit!
